Gladstone Job Skills is a proud recipient of Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) funding for Training and Assessment Short Courses in General Construction as well as Civil Construction to eligible workers in the Building and Construction Industry. Commencing on October 1st 2019 finishing 30th September 2020 or sooner if funding is completed.

As a Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) registered training supplier we provide training that is supported by CSQ funding for a range of accredited competencies to assist with the up-skilling and cross-skilling of existing workers in the Queensland Building and Construction Industry and those industry workers who are currently out of work. This training focuses on the safety, licencing and regulatory requirements of the civil sector of the building and construction industry. The below are the courses offered.
Civil Construction Courses

General Construction Courses
CPCCLDG3001A - Licence to Perform Dogging.
CPCCLRG3001A - Licence to Perform Rigging - Basic Level.

TLILIC0005 - Licence to operate a boom-type elevating work platform. (boom length 11 metres or more)
TLILIC0008 - Licence to Operate a Non-Slewing Mobile Crane. (greater than 3 tonnes capacity)

Please Note: Funding does not include covering the cost of a participant applying for a High Risk Work Licence.
Also participants that meet the eligibility requirements are only eligible for 5 units of competency for Civil Construction (only 3 for RII Machine operations) and 8 units for General Construction in the same Contract Term.
Eligibility Criteria for Funding
To be eligible for Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) subsidised or fully funded training courses participants must :
(A) Must be:
1. An Existing Worker in the Building and Construction Industry.
2. An Eligible Worker or
3. An Unemployed Eligible Worker – Unemployed for a period of not greater than 4 years
(B) Must be:
1. An Australian or New Zealand citizen; or
2. A permanent resident of Australia; or
3. A holder of a refugee or humanitarian visa; and
1. Permanently reside in Queensland; or
2. Be permanently employed in Queensland; and
An Existing Worker is a current Employee in the Building and Construction Industry who has a one month or more employment relationship with their Employer. The working relationship can be built up through full-time, part-time or casual employment or engagement as a contract worker.
An Eligible Worker has the same meaning as the Building and Construction Industry (Portable Long Services Leave) Act 1991 (Qld) as amended from time to time.
An Unemployed Eligible Worker is a person who has been unemployed for a period of not greater than 4 years that would otherwise meet the requirements of an Eligible Worker.
(D) Must not be:
(a) an Employee of any Authority (excluding employees of an Indigenous Council that is a Principal Contractor);
(b) eligible under the Apprentice Advance Plus Program as:
• a current active apprentice or trainee in Queensland as defined in the Act undertaking a Recognised Apprenticeship or Traineeship; or
• an existing worker or unemployed eligible worker in the first year out of their Recognised Apprenticeship or Traineeship who must commence training within 365 days of the completion date in DELTA; or
• a cancelled apprentice or trainee who was undertaking a Recognised Apprenticeship or Traineeship that has been cancelled and they are currently accessing State Government funding to complete their institution-based training.
(c) currently enrolled and participating in a Queensland secondary school program(excluding a school based Apprentice or Trainee);
(d) a contracted trainer or assessor or existing worker of an RTO;
(e) previously funded under this Program for eight (8) Short Courses – General Construction in the same Contract Term;
(f) funded by an Authority or such other source for delivery of the same Training being undertaken as part of this Program;
(g) those Participants seeking a Verification of Competency (or Determination of Competency) services under this Agreement; or
(h) other individuals that do not meet Participant Eligibility
