Work Safely at Heights

Training Content

This nationally accredited course covers all aspects of working at height including WH&S obligations, equipment selection and correct use, travel restraint, work positioning, fall arrest systems.

Anyone working in general construction, mining industries etc whose work exposes them to potential falls over 1.8 meters from the ground are legally required to wear and have the knowledge how to use fall restraint equipment.

The topics covered throughout this training course are as follows:

  • Legislation
  • Identify work requirements prepare for work
  • Access and install equipment
  • Perform work at heights
  • Equipment inspections
  • Recognise anchor points
  • Risk assessment
Qualification Received

This is nationally accredited training and participants will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment and a pocket card for easy proof of qualification.

Gladstone Job Skills recommends that persons who attend training in Work Safely at Heights should undertake a refresher training every 12 months.

Materials provided

Course training manual and support material will be provided.

Dress Code

Closed in shoes and appropriate clothing is required for the duration of the course.

Duration

8 hours for up to 12 participants.

Location and start time

Course starting time is 8.00am; at the Gladstone TAFE College on Derby Street South Gladstone.

Please be waiting in the canteen area by 7.45am where a Gladstone Job Skills trainer will meet you.

Pre-requisite
  • Participants must be 18 years of age or over.
  • Identification such as QLD Driver Licence, 18+card or Birth Certificate will be required.

Anyone found to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be asked to leave the course.
