Training Content
This course is aimed at providing trainees with knowledge and skills required to operate an Excavator in accordance with Australian Standard 2359.2 (1985) and the National OH&S Competency Standards for the Operation of load shifting equipment and other types of load shifting equipment NOHSC:7019 [1992] as required by WH&S.
The course is specifically developed to provide the legally required formal training as well as it provides the opportunity to gain practical experience.

Assessment
It is a legal requirement that applicants undertake formal training and obtain workplace experience before the final assessment can be undertaken. The practical assessment will be conducted once you have achieved 40 logbook hours.
Please note you have 6 months to log these hours.
Materials provided
Course training manual and support material will be provided.
Protective Clothing
Steel cap work boots and appropriate clothing is required for the duration of the course.
Duration and class size
3 x 8 hour days for up to 6 persons per course.
Location and start time
Course starting time is 8.00am; at the Gladstone TAFE College on Derby Street South Gladstone.
Please be waiting in the canteen area by 7.45am where a Gladstone Job Skills trainer will meet you.
Pre-requisite
- Participants must be 18 years of age or over.
- Identification such as QLD Driver Licence, 18+card or Birth Certificate will be required.
Anyone found to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be asked to leave the course.
